Cancer

Greek
mythology

Hercules was a child born of Zeus and his mistress. Hera, Zeus’s jealous wife, tried to hinder Hercules’s growth, but he grew into a fine young man and lived happily with his wife and children. Hera, who was displeased with this, drove Hercules into a state of confusion and made him kill his own wife and children. When Hercules came to his senses, he was given twelve trials by Zeus to atone for his sins. One of these twelve trials was a battle with the Hydra, a snake with nine heads. In this battle, the crab Karkinos, a friend and half-brother of the Hydra, tried to interfere with Hercules by pinching his foot as the Hydra was about to be defeated.

However, Karkinos was crushed in an instant by Hercules. Hera, who had been watching Karkinos’s actions, felt pity for the brotherly Karkinos and raised him to the heavens as a star. This is how the constellation Cancer came to be.

Cancer is known for being very emotional and compassionate. They value connections with others and always want to be with someone. They are not good at being alone and rarely act individually. The distance between them and someone they have opened their heart to is very close, and their range of activities varies depending on whether or not they have like-minded companions. In particular, their love for family is strong, and they will do their best for someone they consider a family member. They like to create a relaxing space and cherish their own world. While they are compassionate, they also have a delicate side and are one of the zodiac signs that are easily hurt.
